250th Anniversary of the United States
Join us at Grove Masonic Lodge No. 824 in Downers Grove as we dedicate a Liberty Tree in honor of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence and in tribute to all American veterans.
This Liberty Tree was generously donated by Donald Shee of the Sons of the American Revolution and stands as a living symbol of the enduring ideals of liberty, patriotism, and service to our nation.
A brief outdoor ceremony will be held on the lodge grounds to commemorate this historic milestone and recognize the sacrifices made by generations of Americans who have defended our freedoms.
We invite members of the community, veterans, patriots, and friends to join us as we celebrate our nation's heritage and dedicate this lasting memorial.

2026-2027 Officers Installation
Grove Lodge #824 will host its Annual Officer Installation Ceremony on Saturday, July 11, at 11:00 AM at the lodge building in Downers Grove. This public ceremony marks the formal installation of the lodge's elected and appointed officers for the coming Masonic year.
The Installation of Officers is one of Freemasonry's most time-honored traditions, featuring ceremonial elements that have been passed down through generations of Masons. The ceremony symbolizes the continuity of leadership, the responsibilities of service, and the enduring principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth.
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend and observe this unique tradition. Whether you have a long-standing interest in Freemasonry or are simply curious about the organization and its customs, the installation offers an excellent opportunity to learn more about Masonry's role in the community and its commitment to personal growth, charity, and fellowship.
The ceremony will be held at Grove Lodge #824 and will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Guests are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early.
Kane County Cougars - Star Wars Night
Join the Brethren of Grove Lodge #824 for an evening of fellowship, fun, and baseball as we attend a Kane County Cougars game together on Saturday, September 5.
This special outing is an opportunity for members, families, and friends of the lodge to enjoy time together outside of our regular meetings while strengthening the bonds of friendship that are at the heart of Freemasonry. Whether you're a lifelong baseball fan or simply looking forward to an enjoyable evening with fellow Masons, this event promises something for everyone.
The September 5 game is also Star Wars Night, featuring themed entertainment, special appearances, and activities inspired by the beloved galaxy far, far away. Following the game, attendees will be treated to a spectacular post-game fireworks show, providing a memorable conclusion to the evening.

Grove Lodge Veterans Day Celebration
Grove Lodge #824 will proudly host its annual Veterans Celebration on Friday, November 6, at 7:00 PM. This special program is dedicated to honoring and recognizing the service and sacrifice of all military veterans who have defended our nation and preserved the freedoms we enjoy today.
Freemasonry has long shared a close connection with military service, with countless veterans among its members throughout history. This annual celebration provides an opportunity for the lodge and the community to come together in gratitude for the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces.
The evening will include a patriotic program recognizing veterans from all branches of service, reflections on the meaning of military service, and a tribute to those who answered the call of duty in times of war and peace. Family members, friends, and members of the community are encouraged to attend as we express our appreciation for the courage, dedication, and selfless commitment of America's veterans.
Shriner's Party on the Patio
Mark your calendars and join fellow Masons and Shriners for one of the summer's most anticipated fellowship events—Party on the Patio at Medinah Shrine!
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Brothers from throughout the area are invited to gather at Medinah Shrine, 550 Shriners Drive, Addison, Illinois, for an afternoon of food, friendship, and fun.
This special membership event is designed to introduce Master Masons to the fellowship and excitement of Shrine membership while providing an opportunity for current Shriners and their Ladies to enjoy an afternoon together. Whether you are a longtime Shriner or simply curious about learning more about the world's greatest philanthropy, this event promises something for everyone.
Attendees can enjoy complimentary burgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill while spending time with Brothers from across the fraternity. A live DJ will provide music throughout the afternoon, creating a festive atmosphere perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with old friends while making new ones.
Party in the Parking Lot
One of Grove Lodge #824's most popular summer traditions returns this year with two evenings of fellowship, food, and fun at our Party in the Parking Lot events on July 24th and August 7th.
These informal gatherings are an opportunity for Brothers to come together outside of a formal Lodge meeting and enjoy the fellowship that makes Freemasonry special. Members are encouraged to bring their spouses and families to enjoy the evening, reconnect with old friends, and meet newer members of the Lodge in a relaxed setting. Burgers and Hotdogs are provided.
The July 24th event will be especially memorable as it will also feature a Rusty Nail Degree. This unique experience is designed for Master Masons who may not have attended Lodge in some time or who simply wish to refresh their knowledge of Masonic ritual and customs. Brothers in attendance will be verified by the Secretary as being current in their dues and then invited into the Lodge room, where they can participate in a lighthearted and educational review of portions of the ritual. The Rusty Nail Degree serves as both a refresher and a reminder that every Brother is always welcome in the Lodge, regardless of how long it has been since his last visit.
Grove Lodge Hang Out
Looking for a relaxing evening with good friends, good food, and great fellowship? Grove Lodge #824 invites all Brothers and their spouses to join us for our Friday Night Fellowship Gatherings this fall.
These casual evenings are designed to give members an opportunity to spend time together outside of regular Lodge meetings. No agenda, no business—just fellowship and friendship among Brothers and their families.
Join us on the third Friday of August and the fourth Fridays of September and October as we open the Lodge for an evening of fun and camaraderie. Members are encouraged to bring their spouses and enjoy a relaxed night together.
We'll pool our resources to order pizza and share a meal while catching up with fellow Brothers. The billiard room will be open for both traditional pool and bottle pool, providing plenty of opportunities for friendly competition and laughter. For those who enjoy cards, poker games will be available throughout the evening.
